Hello! My name is Darren Wonderly and I am a father and coach of a League of Dreams athlete!
I married my high school sweetheart, Kati, and we became public servants before having children. Our first child, and the most precious little girl I know, Kimber was born several years later. Kimber's little brother Gavin followed close behind. My family and I enjoy trips to the beach, late nights around the fire pit, and gathering with good friends.
I learned about League of Dreams while working with Kimber at TERRIO Therapy. Not only was our family blessed with several new friends; we became involved in several different sports, and love the events and opportunities League of Dreams provides. I serve as a coach and supportive parent of a League of Dreams champion.
Supporting athletes with disabilities is important to me because of their enthusiasm. Not only do I want every athlete to have an opportunity to play, I want everyone else to be able to see them play. I want spectators to come cheer them on and see how happy the players are. Next time you're at an event listen closely; some players have a very faint laugh, or sly smile, but it's there if you look and listen.
