The League of Dreams is an adaptive sports league giving every child a chance to play by providing sports training, team camaraderie and competitive sporting opportunities to athletes with physical, developmental and cognitive disabilities ages 5 to 22. The League was founded in 2007 by Tim Terrio and has grown under the direction of Executive Director Jessica Mathews. The League currently serves over 700 athletes in Kern County and provides 10 different programs.

Hello! My name is Roman Lara III. I am the father of a League of Dreams athlete and owner of Only Pickleball.

I have been a financial planner and insurance agent for 25 years. My son Raymond is an athlete in the League of Dreams and was named King of Sole at last year's Wine Women and Shoes event. My wife, Susan, my son Roman and I have been volunteers with the organization since it started in 2007.

Most kids with disabilities do not get to participate in sports or join a team. League of Dreams gives these special athletes a chance to be a part of something they may have missed out on their whole lives... until now.

That is why I am raising money for the League of Dreams as a Shoe Guy for Wine Women and Shoes. Please consider donating to my fundraiser to give every child, like my son, a chance to play sports!
